Session objectives
To ensure students are sufficiently confident to:
-
complete all previous units
-
reflect on any referrals from the assessor
- understand what is required for Unit 5
- continue networking
- seek support once the sessions have finished, if needed
How is it delivered and how long does it last?
We use the MS Teams platform and limit the number of delegates to ensure everyone has an opportunity to engage with the trainer. As this Unit has 7 LOs we split the session into two - each lasting 2 hours, with a week apart.
Who is it suitable for?
The session is suitable for students who have already attended our introductory sessions and ideally also attended our Units 1 and 2.
What is the cost of this workshop?
This introductory session costs £65 per person plus VAT for Suffolk ALC members and £70 per person plus VAT for Norfolk ALC members. Once booked we will issue our invoice. See our terms under our how membership works page.
Cancellation
If it is necessary to cancel training please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Our cancellation policy is two week's notice - full refund. One week's notice - opportunity to re-schedule, less than one week's notice - no refund. See our terms under our how membership works page.
Recognised trainer
Sally Longmate is our recognised trainer (ref: 200932) and the CEO of Suffolk ALC. She is CiLCA qualified and has worked in the local government sector for almost 30 years, 9 of which at the grass roots tier supporting town and parish councils and parish meetings.
Support materials
SALC provides access to The Model Council, our online resources developed from questions raised through our advice service. These are kept up to date and reviewed regularly with links to templates and also reference NALC advice notes. Where there are specific templates or guidance we are aware of directly linked to the training event we will supply these and signpost to examples of good practice and specialist guidance, websites to aid studying. We do not use PowerPoint for CiLCA training but a variety of methods to help engage delegates. Come prepared ready to interact and participate.
